Tailor seizes girl's underwear,clothes after rape

A 45-year-old tailor, identified only as Fasasi, has allegedly seized the underwear and clothes of a 16-year-old girl after raping her in the Agege area of Lagos. PUNCH Metro  learnt that the teenager, Comfort (pseudonym), who was a Secondary School Class 1 pupil, was allegedly raped by Fasasi when she ran an errand for her mother. Our correspondents gathered that Fasasi, who had been arrested by the police, reportedly called the girl and asked her to also buy food for him while she ran the errand for her mother. Fasasi was said to have led the teenager to his room, when she requested his plate, and allegedly asked her to remove her clothes and underwear. It was gathered that the tailor allegedly packed the underwear and the clothes away and raped Comfort. When Fasasi reportedly refused to return her underwear and clothes after the rape, the girl was said to have fled the room. Adebule, Folly Coker, Lola Akande to join Lagos governor’s cabinet

The Lags state Deputy Governor,  Dr. Oluranti Adebule , former S.A to Fashola,  Folly Coker  and  Lola Akande  have been penned down to join  Akinwunmi Ambode ’s cabinet . Read:  Lagos Governor appoints SSG, Chief of Staff, Chief Press Sec. According to a report by The Punch, the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, may announce members of his cabinet this week barring last minute changes. The report also revealed that already 15 names have been pencilled to head some of the 20 ministries in the state with the state Deputy Governor taking charge at the education ministry. Reports also revealed that Folly Coker, Special Adviser on Central Business District to former Governor Babatunde Fashola, has been penned to serve as Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development. I Firmly Believe In NYSC – President Buhari

Nigerian leader promised that his government will take all required actions to maintain and improve the programme as a functional vehicle for the promotion of national unity and integration. Buhari made the pledge after receiving a briefing from officials of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development led by Rabi Jimeta, the permanent secretary. He affirmed his confidence and trust in the NYSC, adding that the objective for which the scheme was constituted in 1973 was still very applicable for national development now. Meet the youngest Nigerian Microsoft professional

Jomiloju Tunde-Oladipo , 9, of Role Model School, Oregun Ikeja, Lagos, hs now become the youngest ever Nigerian Microsoft certified professional, Connect Nigeria has gathered. He came 1st among 21 pupils who sat for the professional examination in Lagos by scoring 769 out of 1,000. In his examination score report, the young genius performed well in Sharing and Maintaining Documents, Formatting Content, Applying Page Layout, and Reusable Content, among other subjects. By this feat, Jomiloju has joined the league of young Microsoft certified professionals, including Nigeria’s 10-year-old Anjolaoluwa Seyi-Ojo;  an eight-year-old Indian, Lavishnashree, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani. However, Jomiloju doesn't plan on slowing down too. “I still want to sit for more examinations. I will still do excel and power points,” he says.

President directs Education Ministry to include Islamic books in Federal schools’ curriculum

President  Muhammadu Buhari  has directed the Ministry of Education to include two Islamic Studies books written by the late Justice  Muhammad Bashir Sambo  in the secondary school curriculum for all Federal Government Colleges. He gave the order in  Kaduna , at the launching of the reviewed editions of the books, which were originally published in 1974. The President, who was represented by the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam  Nasir el-Rufai , noted that books of this kind have become necessary in the face of declining moral and religious values in the country. Mallam Mukhtar Lere  reviewed  Islamic Studies for Secondary Schools    to conform with the current 6-3-3-4 educational system in the country. Buhari however urged the Education Ministry peruse the books with a view to adopting them in all government colleges.

A man arrested for having 'sexual contact' with a bush

An 81 year old man  Wallace Berg  was in Stratford, Connecticut for allegedly behaving indecently with a bush in his garden. A neighbor of the alleged offender saw Berg naked in the back of their property. Aware he was wrong he covered the sensitive parts of his body with the cover of a garbage bin, apologized and went into his home. His neighbour wasn't satisfied with his apology and called the police him. 24 hours later he was arrested and he spent a dya behind bars. He was released having paid $10, 00 for bail. On August 5 he must be in court for  public indecency and rape in the second degree of public order.
