The final burial rites of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, was performed on Friday, but his wives, children and family members were unable to pay their last respects as they were barred from the programme. Some people who had expected to see the body of the monarch lie in state were disappointed as his remains were neither brought out for people to see nor was any casket displayed during the burial service. A lot of dignitaries were in attendance like Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Rear Admiral Akin Aduwo (retd.), Gen. Former Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has taken Alhaji Sani Shehu of APC, before the Bauchi State High Court 9, for alleged defamatory utterances against his personality and his administration and is seeking N10bn in damages.   An Isolo Magistrate court in Lagos has remanded in prison custody, a clergy, Mrs Joy Tongo, for her alleged involvement in a Chinese visa scandal. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Joy Ugbomoiko, granted Tongo bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum and ordered that she should be remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions. According to the charge, Tongo, who claimed to be a pastor of the Mountain of Fire Ministry- Yaba headquarters, allegedely defrauded one Stanley Dim under a false pretence of procuring him a Chinese visa for missionary journey. The accused was charged with obtaining under false pretence and stealing, under the Criminal Code. However, when the charge was read to her, she pleaded not guilty.
